Guidance Required on Identifying Delta Changes in TRUD Human Readable SNOMED Releases

Hi,

We are a TIF Framework partner of the NHS and are seeking guidance on how to identify delta changes from the TRUD SNOMED release files — specifically the file:

SnomedCT_UKClinical_HumanReadableRefsets_20250730000001Z

As per our understanding, the Human Readable Clinical Refset files provided via TRUD are full datasets in every 6-week release, rather than incremental (delta) datasets.

Given this, we would appreciate your advice on the following:

  • If changes occur between releases, what is the recommended approach to determine the delta data (i.e., additions, updates, and removals)?

  • Are there any official mechanisms, metadata, or best practices provided by NHS Digital/TRUD for comparing successive releases to identify changes?

  • If not, what approach is typically used by partner systems to track changes between releases?

Any guidance or recommended methodology would be greatly appreciated.
