Converting an A&G Request to a Referral and bypassing the Referrals for Review List

Hi,

If a GP converts an A&G request to a referral and picks a new service, does the newly created referral always appear on the Referrals for Review worklist on the new service? I’m sure I was told (some time ago now I admit) that there is an option to bypass the review stage if converting from an A&G request. Can you confirm please?

Thanks

Jim

Hi Jim,

Thanks for your query,

When a GP converts an A&G request to a referral and selects a new service, whether it appears on the Referral for Review worklist depends on the bookability type of the new service selected.

If the new service is a Directly Bookable Service, the GP can book directly into a slot, bypassing the review stage. If the new stage is an indirectly bookable service or a triage service, the referral will appear on the Referrals for review worklist at the new service.

I am not aware of a bypass to this rule.

Hope this helps,
