Do we have a Referring Clinician Admin equivalent of the functionality in A040 - Retrieve e-RS-specific practitioner information?
No, because that is governed by access roles/business functions on the users spine profile, managed by RAs, not e-RS.
We can currently raise a case on the eRS via our platform when a user has the “referrer clinician” role. However, a few customers have indicated that they would ideally not like to give that role to an admin and would instead like to use the referring clinician admin role and then be presented with the option to refer the case on behalf of an a user with the referring clinician role. As you will be aware, the use of admins to raise cases on behalf of clinicians is very common. Is there an API call that can be made that would allow a third party provider to pull a list of referring clinicians within the users own organisation (user inserts smartcard and we can then pull a list of authorised referring clinicians from their organisation to choose from)? This be same process as a practice secretary (with referring clinician admin) picking a GP (referring clinician) to refer on behalf of withing eRS itself. We currently are able to do this from a service provider side using the A040 call. Any guidance would be appreciated to support the customer use case.
We wouldn’t create an API endpoint for this use case. As I said above, it’s governed by user profiles on Spine; e-RS is a consumer of this data, not the source.
You may be able to get the information you need from inspecting the users profile via CIS2 scopes and claims but I’m no expert on this and you’d have to speak to the CIS team to find out if that is even a possibility.
From an e-RS perspective, when a user logs in as an RCA and they initiate a referral/A&G, we present them with all the RCs associated to that logged in org. The business role you are looking for is detailed here.
