I have heard people talk about in-context launch and/or deep link functionality. What is this?
Deep linking lets you bring users directly into your app from web browsers, and other sources. Deep links provide direct app-to-app and web-to-app transitions that can help you increase engagement through contextual, targeted content.
We already offer deep linking from 3rd party applications to NCRS
We have not (until now) offered deep linking into 3rd party application from NCRS.
This functionality is aimed to help with the following pain points:
- Having to switch to a different application (and go through additional authentication – costing time) if information isn’t available
- Only having primary care information for out of area patients
- Clinical summaries not always sufficient
- Having to manually consolidate information when only available in multiple static PDFs
This new feature will be delivered in the following iterations:
- Iteration 1 – ability to launch a ShCR from NCRS
- Iteration 2 – ability to launch a ShCR from another ShCR or EPR
- Iteration 3 – ability to launch other records
The initial pilot of iteration 1 will allow Paramedics launching the Greater Manchester Care Record (provided by Graphnet) from NCRS.
We will then be looking to:
- provide the ability for paramedics to launch other shared care record applications from NCRS
- provide the ability for other user groups e.g. pharmacists, and care home staff, to launch shared care record applications from NCRS, and their own EPRs
- provide the ability for users to launch other records types, such as maternity records, from NCRS
