It is a little unclear to me what the field Commissioning-Rule-Org means in the API spec for A005.
We’re trying to figure out how this will behave in some uncommon scenarios such as when non-GPs are creating the referral. Is this field safe to use as a location communication should be sent if there needs to be any contact outside of e-RS?
Hi @gmitchel - Welcome to the community and thanks for reaching out.
The Commission Rule Org is set at the point of referral, and is used to determine the availability of services and the applicable rights of a referrer to refer to those services.
It can be determined as either:
- the Registered GP Practice of the patient OR
- the users logged in organisation
Re your comms question - although the field can be used to infer an org, it’s purpose does not support this use case.
The referral information supplied in the clinical referral information PDF (A007) would be better suited, see attached screenshot of test patient/referral:
Thanks for the response, @zubeir.tai !
Digging into that a little bit more, can you explain when it would be the patient’s registered GP vs when it would be the users logged in organisation? Again, I’m thinking of situations where a non-GP may be placing the referral. Are there cases where Commission Rule Org may be the GP despite the referral not being placed by the GP?
Hi @gmitchel - Sorry, but I’m not fully familiar with the complete business logic for these scenarios, as e-RS includes a wide range of organisation types (100+).
‘Referring Organisation’ is the most reliable data field to use.
