I am currently working on a community based project to display data relating to the local area spatially on a map.
One of the challenges local people have is finding a GP or Dentist who is currently allowing new NHS patients.
I noticed the NHS website has a page element which indicates if a provider is accepting new patients - Find services near you - NHS
I presume these pages are fed by the Directory of Healthcare Services API - Directory of Healthcare Services API - version 3 - NHS England Digital
I would very much like to periodically pull information for GPs and Dentists within the Plymouth area and provide on our map of the city healthcare facilities which are / are not accepting new patients.
I noticed the API mentioned above is access only based on approval only for “legal use cases” however there is no list of what qualifies. Would my use case qualify for access to the service? If so please can we arrange access as appropriate?
