We are a TIF Framework partner of the NHS and are currently in the process of developing a local referral system.
As part of this work, we are looking to identify and map provider organisations against specific community health services (for example, District Nursing, Community Physiotherapy, etc.), as outlined on the NHS England website below:
Our intention is to establish mappings in the following structure:
Service: District Nursing
ICB: NHS North East London ICB
Provider Organisation: Barts Health NHS Trust
We would be grateful for your guidance on the most appropriate and authoritative source (dataset, API, or reference documentation) to accurately map community health services to their respective provider organisations within an ICB.
A prompt response would be greatly appreciated, as this will support our ongoing development work.
From an e-RS point of view, services like District Nursing or Community Physiotherapy are set up and managed locally by providers and commissioners, and then made available through e-RS as services linked to organisations and locations.
The e-RS FHIR API lets you look up the services, organisations and locations that have been created in e-RS, but it doesn’t offer a single national list that directly maps every community service type to provider organisations for each ICB.
So you can use e-RS to see which services are available in your area and build your own mappings from that, but if you need a complete, authoritative list of all community services by ICB (including anything not configured in e-RS), that would need to come from NHS England or the relevant ICB teams.
