Production access request — Directory of Healthcare Services (Service Search) API v3

Hi,

I’d like to request production environment access for the Directory of Healthcare Services (Service Search) REST API, version 3.

Application details:

  • API + version: Directory of Healthcare Services (Service Search) API — version 3
  • Developer-portal application name: Hoodi neighbourhood report - Production
  • Application ID: 4aa8c940-e015-4c00-8aab-9269f7cee740
  • We are also setting up the Integration test environment to build against int.api.service.nhs.uk while production is pending.

Use case:
Hoodi (https://hoodi.co.uk) is a free, live, public-facing UK neighbourhood-report web app operated by HOODI INTELLIGENCE LTD (company no. 17256527). We display the nearest urgent-care sites — organisation types HOS (A&E), MIU (Minor Injury Unit) and UC (Urgent Care) — as name + distance on a Health & Care card, ranked by geo.distance from a user’s postcode. This is read-only consumption of published service-directory data, low and cached request volume, with no patient data and no clinical decision support.

Because production access for this API is not self-service, please could an Onboarding Lead initiate production enablement for the above application? If there is a form, agreement or additional information you need from me to proceed, let me know exactly what and I’ll turn it around quickly.

Finally — could you give me a rough expected turnaround for production enablement? It’s the last dependency before we can switch on this feature, so a ballpark timeline would help me plan.

Welcome to the Developer Community and apologies for the delayed response.

The Directory of Healthcare Services (Service Search) REST API v3 does require production access to be enabled by the service owner and is not currently a self-service onboarding process.

The API Platform team is not able to approve production access directly. To progress your request, please raise a Service Request with the NHS National Service Desk, who will route it to the appropriate Service Search onboarding team for review.

  • Confirmation that you are requesting Production access to the Directory of Healthcare Services (Service Search) REST API v3

Regarding timescales, each request is reviewed individually by the service owner - so not sure about SLAs. The onboarding team will be able to advise on the expected turnaround once they have assessed your request.
