Is more granular data available for WLMDS (e.g., for sub-specialties)?

Hi.

I’m looking for waiting list data broken down by sub-specialties (e.g., Cataract, Glaucoma within the Ophthalmology specialty). I can see there is a CSV export for WLMDS available here (Statistics » Consultant-led Referral to Treatment Waiting Times Data 2025-26), but that’s only broken down by trust and specialty.

Is there more granular data available for this dataset somewhere, either as an export or an API?

Note that we’re looking in the context of providers, not individual patients.

Any help would be appreciated! And apologies if this is the wrong section for this, I couldn’t work out which one would be best.

Hi Jamie,

Are you able to advise what WLMDS stands for and also to review the various Tags/Categories available and add any that are appropriate? Doing this may help to get more focused traction on the post.

Of course, thanks. WLMDS is Waiting List Minimum Data Set ( Statistics » Waiting List Minimum Data Set (WLMDS) Information ), where the monthly Referral To Treatment (RTT) waiting list data is published from.
