I am getting email notifications from other user’s threads

Sorry that you’re having problems with your account.
I’m assuming you’ve tried to set your notification preferences on your community profile?
Are the notifications coming from the NHS Login Private group or another area?

Hi Alison.

The notifcations are coming from the Private Space. Threads that I have not started.

I have left my preferences on the default from when I set up my account. It looks like this:

I have also see settings for the Private Space:

I want to receive messages when my own posts are replied to, but not when other people start topics in the space. Can you advise what settings I need to change?

Hi Harry, Can you try the following and let me know if this works:

  1. Open the nhs_login_private_space category.
  2. Look for the notification bell near the category title.
  3. Change it from Watching (or Watching First Post) to:
    • Normal: you’ll only get notifications for topics you’re involved in.
    • Muted: you won’t receive notifications for new topics or replies in that category.

It looks like you’ve already amended your main user preferences so this is likely irrelevant, but the only advice I can find also suggests the following: If you’re still receiving notifications after changing the category setting, it’s worth checking:

  • Your User Preferences → Notifications settings.
  • Whether you’ve accidentally set the category to Watching via a group membership.
  • Whether you’re explicitly watching individual topics within that space.
