A026 - Duplicate Filenames

We tried uploading the same filename for a UBRN and received a 422 error with an operationalOutcome message stating that we had used a duplicate filename.

Why does a UBRN have the restriction on the filename? What if the user wants to upload a different file with the same filename? Each file has a unique documentURL in eRS so can be identified and displayed separately.

We are going to work around this by creating a unique filename for each file uploaded, but this seems unnecessary? Why is there a restriction? Are we missing something?

Hi @jim.brock -

Much in the same way that other systems don’t allow duplicate file names, e-RS follows the same pattern.

This ensures data integrity and consistency. But also in terms of UX a user is able to distinguish files in the UI without ambiguity, avoiding the clinical risk of mistaking a file as the same.

Thanks,
Z.
