SystemOne API access

Hi all,

Just wondering how I would get access to System One API or testing environments to test my platform?

Thanks

Nikhil

Hi Nikhil – welcome to the NHS API Developer Community!

Accessing the SystmOne API (developed by TPP) is a slightly different process from NHS England’s public API Platform access, as it is managed directly by TPP.

To access the SystmOne API, you must contact TPP directly via Integration Request – TPP, as it is not managed through the NHS England API Platform. TPP will provide the necessary API documentation and authentication details after you’ve shared your use case. By contacting TPP and expressing your intent to develop against this API, you will be provided with a test harness which must be used to test your integration interface.

If you are building NHS-Facing Services, you may also want to check if your platform could benefit from additional NHS APIs such as:

These are accessible through the NHS API Platform with sandbox and INT environments available via the Developer Hub.

Hope the above helps.

Thanks,

Hi Nevin (and team!)

Thanks for the information above. Please can I ask, is that the same process for seeking to access Emis Web, Vision and Medicus to be able to test a platform?

Thank you,

Adam

Hi Adam,

Yes, broadly the same principles apply.

National APIs published through the NHS England API Platform are available via our catalogue: API and integration catalogue - NHS England Digital

The APIs and test environments for the GP clinical systems are managed by their respective suppliers.

The typical routes are:

  • TPP SystmOne : contact TPP directly via their integration process to discuss API access, documentation and test environments.
  • EMIS Web : contact the EMIS Partner API team, who manage Partner API access, onboarding, product activation and test environments.
  • Vision : contact Cegedim Healthcare UK, who manage Vision integrations and supplier onboarding.
  • Medicus : contact the Medicus supplier/integration team directly for details of their API access and testing process.

Thanks,

NHS England API Platform team
