When considering the scale of NIR, in addition to the clinical and technical input from our SME’s, a query and retrieve model is favoured over streaming, due to the complexity that streaming would introduce. There are no international standards for streaming, and this would add significant risk to the clinical outcomes of NIR. When patient care moves between providers, there is often a clinical need for permeance of the external images, there are use-cases for NIR beyond radiology, this decision is deemed the right solution for clinical, technical, and operational outcomes
