EMIS ICE Access in HSCN

Hi all. We have got EMIS Live Frontend Environment access in HSCN in our AWS EC2 . We are connecting to HSCN through supplier. We have been allocated NHS IPAM /29 block where we have allocated one IP for EMIS. We have allowed IP ranges given by EMIS through our firewall and are able to install EMIS for our Organisation ID. Now when trying to make online test request for booking tests through EMIS, we are not able to connect to ICE. Is there something that we have missed?. Do we have to get our NHS IPAM block whitelisted by ICE for us to connect to ICE? Hoping for your guidance on this matter. Thanks

Hi Bhargav,

Hope you were able to get in touch with EMIS regarding this query.

EMIS ICE connectivity is not managed by NHS API Platform. Both EMIS Web and ICE (Order Communications) are supplier-managed systems, and ICE has its own network and security controls even when accessed via HSCN.

For the above, you’ll need to raise your query directly with EMIS Support and/or the ICE service desk, not via API Platform. We recommend * Raising a ticket with EMIS Partner Support, explicitly stating:

  • Your NHS IPAM block
  • Your outbound IP(s)
  • Confirm that your EMIS Web works but ICE connectivity fails
  • Detailing the ICE environment you are targeting

and request EMIS to coordinate with the ICE team to confirm that the required IPs are whitelisted along with specifying any additional firewall or certificate requirements.

Hope the above helps:

Thanks,
