Support Required: ECL Query Issue in Deriving Target Disease and Product Code

Hi,

We are a TIF Framework partner of the NHS and are currently working on the Immunisation- Vaccination module. As part of this, we need to derive the target disease from the selected vaccine using an ECL query.

Additionally, the Preferred Term is not being applied within the ECL results. As a result, we are unable to correctly derive the corresponding product code in the Immunisation workflow.

We would greatly appreciate your support in resolving this issue.

Kind regards,

Hi Manish,

Thanks for getting in touch. Is there any additional context you can share on this and how this is interacting with GP Connect functionality? If you contact us at the GP Connect inbox, we’ll try and bring in the relevant people to help you.

Thanks,

Myles

Hi Myles,

Thank you for your response.

To provide some additional context, the GP Connect team raised a query related to the Immunization module. The requirement is to derive the target disease from the selected vaccine concept using SNOMED CT.

For example, when the vaccine SARS-CoV-2 immunization (1156257007) is selected, the system should automatically derive the Target disease: COVID-19.

At the moment, the derivation appears to work only when the preferred term is selected. However, when users select an acceptable synonym/term (for example, “2019 novel coronavirus immunisation”), the system is unable to derive the target disease.

We are currently investigating this behaviour and trying to determine how to consistently derive the target disease regardless of whether the preferred term or an acceptable synonym is selected.

If you feel it would be helpful, I can also raise this through the GP Connect inbox so the relevant team members can review and advise.

Kind regards,

Thanks Manish,

Please do raise via the GP Connect inbox and I’ll direct to some of the relevant people. Once we’ve got an answer, I’ll try and ensure it’s also posted here for completeness.

Myles

And to add to this, you’re talking about the following aspect of the GP Connect Data Model?
