Hi,
We’ve been using PDS MESH Client since late 2024. We send several files of 100,000 each weekday for trace that we then use to compare the details of the national record to our own Patient Master Index (PMI).
Recently, we’ve been having issues with the response files. We’ve had cases of not receiving the response files, or we have received response files with incomplete data. This started in late July/early August.
We’ve looked extensively at our internal setup and cannot identify any issues, so we’re reaching out in the hope that we can see between us what the issue may be.
Best way to raise an issue like this is to contact National Service Desk and raise a support ticket.
Ah, I see you have. Your ticket just landed.
Hi Adrian,
Thanks for the quick response. I’ve done that already so suspect I’ll have an answer soon.
I thought I’d raise it on here as a discussion based on my assumption that the increasing uptake of PDS use may be resulting in unexpected issues for both requesting organisations and at the NHSE end too. My guess is that we’re not likely to be the only organisation experiencing challenges like this down the line, so this could be another decent channel to get some more in depth technical understanding with people a little closer to the building and maintenance.
One assumption we have is that the increasing use of the MESH is resulting in higher numbers of failures like this. Could it have something to do with capacity? Do providers need to consider how they prepare request files? If this is the case, how is this reflected in existing guidance on NHSE PDS website etc.? Basically, many questions about the use of the product and how it is being used in context that existing written guidance doesn’t really cater for.
Happy to discard this line of contact, but it feels like the right place to have these discussions in addition to raising one off tickets on the national helpdesk.
Cheers
