# If NIR is implemented Nationally, why would we need IEP in the future?

IEP is not an NHSE product, it is a product from an external supplier and Trusts make their own decisions about how and when they use it, the DDC have shared a response on their position regarding this question on their Futures webpage, or you can contact them directly on [england.diagnostics.ddcp@nhs.net](mailto:england.diagnostics.ddcp@nhs.net) to discuss further.
